Don’t Believe Everything You Read

The first thing I do when I see the latest skin care  ‘wonder product’ endorsed in the press is to check the ingredients. What’s in it? And, more importantly, are any of those ingredients toxic and where have they been derived from.

The Daily Mail reported today that the latest product used by a long list of ‘Celebrities’ is a Spa Sanctuary cleansing oil which costs £12.99, with claims that it keeps them looking youthful. It is wrong for the press to make exaggerated claims about skin care products without doing some research first.

Whether the clebrities in the article actually use the product or not is another matter. More importantly as far as I am concerned I see that the main ingredient is liquid paraffin. Liquid paraffin – is a by product of petroleum refining!

Petroleum – based ingredients (mineral oil, etc) act as a barrier and they also do not have any nutritional value for your skin. It is not good to clog the skin with something which it cannot even absorb. Products such as E45 cream and Johnson’s Baby Oil have a liqiud paraffin base.

I will only use plant-based oils on my skin, as they are high in natural fatty acids which nourish, moisturise and revitalise your skin. Check out our Night Repair Serum, Fruity Body Oil and Floral Body Oil .
